DCP warns rowdy sheeters of stringent action if they are found disturbing peace
Mysuru: In a bid to control rowdy activities and to maintain law and order situation across the city, a rowdy parade was conducted at Vijayanagar and Krishnaraja divisions in city yesterday in which over 200 rowdy sheeters participated.
Following instruction from City Police Commissioner Seema Latkar, DCP (Law and Order) Dr. Harsha Priyamvada, who conducted the parade in Vidyaranyapuram Police Station premises, warned rowdy sheeters of initiating legal action if they are found creating fear among the public, disturbing peace and take law into their hands.
Police personnel from the newly formed Anti-Rowdy Squad of Vijayanagar and Krishnaraja Divisions were summoned to the Police Station where the DCP collected information about the criminal activities of rowdy sheeters.
She warned rowdy sheeters who were involved in crimes in 2025-26 of registering cases under Goonda Act and Karnataka Control of Organised Crimes Act (KCOCA) and banish them from the city. She advised them to mend their ways and lead a peaceful life.
