NCC Alumni Association offers help  

Mysuru: In its response to the Airports Authority of India (AAI), the 4 Karnataka Air Squadron of the National Cadet Corps (NCC), Mysuru, said a proposal to demolish the existing dilapidated hangar and construct a new one at an estimated cost of Rs. 2 crore has already been processed by the NCC State Cell and is awaiting approval.

The NCC also informed AAI that the NCC Alumni Association has expressed its willingness to support the construction of the new hangar.

According to the NCC, former cadets and members of the Alumni Association came forward after reading the Star of Mysore report on the poor condition of the hangar and offered to contribute materials and labour under a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, without any financial transaction. In view of these developments, the NCC has requested AAI to defer the proposed demolition and grant reasonable time for the approval process to be completed, enabling the new hangar to be taken up in a planned and coordinated manner.
