Rs. 25 lakh worth articles gutted in fire mishap

Articles estimated worth Rs. 25 lakh were gutted in a fire mishap that occurred at the godown of matchbox and stationery materials, at Shivarampet in the city recently.

The godown belongs to a shop owned by Dayalal of Devaraj Mohalla.

The incident came to light as some of the locals and those residing in the neighbourhood of the godown, noticed smoke billowing out of the premises. They informed Fire and Emergency Services Department personnel, who doused the fire after a three-hour long operation.

Devaraja Police have registered a case.
