S.R. Mahesh withdraws his resignation

June 9, 2017

Bengaluru: JD(S) MLA S. R. Mahesh yesterday agreed to withdraw his resignation as member of the House after Chief Minister Siddharamaiah assured him that he will convene a meeting soon to revive the Srirama Sugar Factory in his constituency K.R. Nagar, in Mysuru district.

Mahesh had submitted his resignation to Deputy Speaker N.H. Shivashankar Reddy hitting out at the government for not keeping its promise made three years ago on the revival of the factory.

“Your are from my district (Mysuru). Your resignation will create more problems for the Congress than the JD(S). Withdraw it, I will convene a meeting to discuss the revival of the sugar factory and all dues to employees will be cleared in 15 days,” CM Siddharamaiah said.
