Mysuru: A theatre-based event titled “Saavirada Sharanavva: An Evening with B. Jayashree,” will be held tomorrow (July 25) at 6 pm at Jagannatha Centre for Art and Culture (JCAC) in Vijayanagar 1st Stage, Mysuru.

This event, celebrating one of Karnataka’s most revered theatre legends, Padma Shri B. Jayashree, will offer audiences a rare opportunity to experience the living history of Kannada theatre — from her beginnings on Gubbi Veeranna’s stage at the age of four to becoming a monumental figure in Indian performing arts.

 The evening will be beautifully woven together with iconic melodies from Karnataka’s theatre heritage, featuring a live orchestra led by celebrated composer Praveen D. Rao alongside the Rangageethe show artistes — Pooja Rao, Shlaghya Vasista, Lavanthi S. Kumar, Hima Srinivas, S.Sahana, Madhwesh Bharadwaj, Lokesh Achar, Vinay Dhruvakumar, Anil Iyer, Prakash, Subramanya Rao and Leela Krishna.
