Mysuru: The Election Commission and the District Administration have set up special ‘Sakhi’, or ‘Pink’, polling booths for the election. These special booths will be staffed entirely by women – from the presiding officers to the micro-observers and security personnel. This is being done to attract more women to vote. The security deployed at such booths will also be women.

Within city limits, in NR, JSS Vidyapeetha Santha Shishunala Sharief High School Room Number 2 Mahadevapura Road (booth No. 141) and St. Anne’s Convent High School Room Number 1 (booth No. 78) N.R. Mohalla have been converted as Pink booths.

In Chamaraja, Government Bifurcated Maharaja’s Junior College Nazarbad Room Number 2 (booth No. 210), Sri Jayachamarajendra Ursu Boarding School K.G. Koppal Room Number 1 (booth No. 151) and Grace Vidya Samsthe, Mahadeshwara Badavane, Kumbarakoppal (booth No. 54) have been converted as Pink Booths.

In KR, Jayalakshmi Vilasa Arya Balika School B.B. Laya Road Room Number 2 (booth No. 121), Akkana Balaga Primary School Thyagaraja Road Room Number 1 (booth No. 119) and Koushika Sankethi Sangha Sankethi Hostel Jayanagar (booth No. 74) have been prepared as Pink Booths.
