Sale of duplicate cigarettes: Case registered against 4 shop ownersworking

Mysore/Mysuru: Devaraja and Mandi Police have registered separate cases against shop owners on charges of selling fake cigarettes of ITC company.

On Mar. 3, M.K. Shivakumaraswamy, Manager of ITC company in Bengaluru, arrived in city along with others and went to a store in Shivarampet in the guise of customers and found duplicate cigarettes of various ITC brands being sold and lodged a complaint at Devaraja Police Station on Mar. 4.

On the same day, ITC company’s Marketing Manager Nitish, along with the company’s Mysuru distributor, visited various shops in MandiMohalla and found three shops selling duplicate cigarettes and lodged a complaint against the shop owners at Mandi Police Station on Mar. 4. Devaraja and Mandi Police, who have registered a case are investigating.
