‘Sanction Evening College at CPC Polytech’

Mysore/Mysuru: JD(S) MLC Marithibbegowda has urged the Government to sanction an Evening College at Government-run CPC Polytechnic in city for the benefit of industrial employees and others who want to pursue higher technical  education.

In a letter addressed to the Chief Minister, Marithibbegowda, who represents South Teachers Constituency in the Legislative Council, said that the Government must allocate adequate funds for the execution of several other academic activities in the year 2021-22. Appealing the CM to relax financial constraints for appointment of teaching and non-teaching faculty, he said that the Government must bring the staff of aided educational institutions under ‘Jyoti Sanjeevini Scheme.’

Urging the Government to release the promised funds for payment of salaries to teaching and non-teaching faculty of unaided educational institutions during the COVID-19 induced lockdown period (ten months salary), he wanted the Government to also release RTE dues to private schools.

He further said that the Government should extend pension benefits under old pension scheme for all the staff of educational institutions who were appointed after Apr. 1, 2006  and fill all teaching and non-teaching posts in Government Engineering Colleges and Polytechnics.

Marithibbegowda also appe-aled the Government to set up a Regional Directorate Office of Public Instruction in Mysuru just as the ones at Kalaburagi  and Dharwad, as it would help expedite Departmental activities in Mysuru region.
