Savitha Maharshi Jayanti on Feb.14

Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) R. Lokanath has said that as per the direction of the Government, the celebration of Savitha Maharshi Jayanti which was to be  held on Jan. 28, has been postponed to Feb.14 as per the wishes of community members, due to paucity of time.

He was speaking at a preliminary meeting held at Deputy Commissioner’s Office in connection with the celebration recently.

On Feb.14 at 11 am, the stage programme will be inaugurated at the Mini Theatre in Kalamandira premises.

Kannada and Culture Department Assistant Director Dr. M.D. Sudarshan, who also spoke said that as per protocol, the District Administration will print invitations and distribute them. Singing programme will be organised by the Department as part of cultural activities, he added.

Karnataka Government Employees Association District President J. Govindaraju, Savitha Maharshi Association District President, Taluk President and Office-bearers and community leaders including Thayur Vittalamurthy were present.
