Savitha Samaja can grow by rendering honest services: MLA

February 1, 2019

Mysuru: MLA and former Minister Tanveer Sait has said that Savitha Samaja can grow if every member of the community becomes an honest social worker.

He was speaking at Karpoori Thakur (former Bihar Chief Minister) Jayanti celebrations organised by Karnataka State Savitha Samaja at a private hotel here yesterday.

Pointing out that service activities can be taken up by any community, Tanveer Sait said that Savitha Samaja should prioritise education for its growth.

Lauding the services of the Samaja to the society, the MLA said that the Samaja members should also become well educated so that they can have a better understanding of the initiatives of Government. Former Minister C.H. Vijayashankar who presided, said that occupations and vocations have been linked to caste, which is not correct.

Stressing on the need for de-linking of castes with occupations, he said that such an action alone can help the society to prosper. Savitha Samaja District President N.R. Nagesh said that Karpoori Thakur could become the Chief Minister of Bihar only through his struggles.

Stating that Thakur had taken on the Government on the issue of caste abuse, he recalled the facilities extended to the Samaja by the previous Siddharamaiah Government.

Samaja office-bearers were issued installation letters and identity cards were distributed for the members of the community on the occasion.

Film actor M.S. Muthuraj, former MLC Puttasidda Shetty, ‘Savitha Bandhu’, magazine Editor T. Thyagaraj, community leaders Nagendra, Muralidhar, Narasimha, Gourish, Manjunath, C. Krishnaraj, Sampath Kumar, Krishna and others were present.
