School fee issue to be decided after consensus

August 22, 2021

Mysore/Mysuru: Primary and Secondary Education Minister B.C. Nagesh said that the school fee  issue will be fixed after holding talks with private school managements, parents and all other stakeholders.

He was speaking to press persons after visiting Suttur Mutt at the foot of Chamundi Hill in the city and seeking the blessings of Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Swamiji on Friday.

Pointing out that some persons have moved the Court on the school fee issue, Nagesh said that the Government will ensure that  parents are not burdened by high school fee.

Talks will be held with the Department officials and other stakeholders in this regard so as to arrive at a consensus on the contentious school fee issue, he added.

Referring to the opening of schools for First to Eighth standard classes, the Minister said that the Government was ready to allow re-opening of schools. The Education Department is in constant touch with officials concerned and experts, he noted.

Pointing out that physical classes for standards nine to twelve will commence from Aug. 23 (Monday), the Minister said that students who have attained 18 years of age are being vaccinated.

Contending that a decision on re-opening of schools for lower standards (one to eight) will be taken after the Expert Committee comes up with its recommendations and suggestions, he expressed confidence that there will be good public response for re-opening of schools.
