Mysuru: Following the rise in suspected dengue and other viral fever cases in city, the District Health and Family Welfare Department has formed nine Rapid Response teams to go door-to-door and create awareness, which was launched recently.

Awareness rallies through various Primary Health Centres (PHCs) in city are conducting awareness on prevention and control of dengue and other viral diseases in city.

Yesterday, the PHC in Old Agrahara conducted an awareness rally from Mathrumandali Circle, which was flagged off by Dr. Chandrashekar of the PHC.

The rally, consisting of students of Mathrumandali School and medical staff, passed through the main thoroughfares of Vinayakanagar, Jayalakshmipuram, Vontikoppal and surrounding areas with carrying placards bearing messages on prevention and control of viral diseases besides distributing pamphlets to the public.

The students were seen advising the public not to store water in open containers, to keep their surroundings clean, to discard coconut shells, old tyres etc.
