SC/ST employees to take out rally in Bengaluru on May 8

May 6, 2017

Mysuru: Urging the State Government to file a review petition before the Constitution Bench of the Supreme Court against the Apex Court’s Feb. 9 ruling striking down ‘consequential seniority’ in the promotion of SC/ST employees awarded by the State Government in 1978, the Karnataka State Government SC/ST Employees Co-ordination Committee will take out a rally in Bengaluru on May 8.

Announcing this at a press meet here yesterday, the Committee Vice-President K.B. Prakash said that the rally will be taken out from KSR Bengaluru Railway Station to Freedom Park at 10.30 am.

Alleging that vested interests were out to scuttle reservation in promotions, Prakash said that there was a plot to prevent the oppressed sections from entering the mainstream society and added that nearly 3,000 employees from Mysuru district are expected to take part in the rally.

The Committee office-bearers Prof. K. Siddaraju, Dr. Mangalamurthy, K.M. Shekar, Nagamallesh were present at the press meet.
