Seeking COVID risk allowance…: Nurses register their protest by wearing black bands

January 20, 2022

Mysore/Mysuru:  Seeking payment of COVID risk allowance and incentives, Nurses attached to K.R., Cheluvamba and PKTB Hospitals registered their protest by wearing black arm bands while on work yesterday.

Stating that this is a week-long demonstration where nurses attached to the Department of Medical Education across the State would register their protest by wearing black arm bands, the protestors alleged that the Government had failed in its promise of paying COVID-19  risk allowance and incentives.

Maintaining that the Government’s promise lies only on paper, they urged the Government to release the promised allowances. They further said that they would continue to work by wearing black arm bands for seven days as a mark of protest.

Government Nurses Association President G.N.Girish and others were present.
