Mysore/Mysuru: Star of Mysore and Mysuru Mithra photo-journalist M.N. Lakshminarayana Yadav is among the eight achievers from different fields selected for the prestigious ‘Dr. Raj Sadhana’ award given by the city’s Inchara Samskrutika Pratishtana, a city-based literary and cultural service organisation.

The awardees are — Swamy Mahamane (amateur theatre and organisation), R.B. Nagaraj (singer), S.Venkatesh (film producer and social service), Lakshminarayana Yadav (photo-journalist Star of Mysore and Mysuru Mithra), Jayaram (agriculture), Dr. Shwetha Madappady (singer, hotelier and organisation), R. Lakshman (singer and social service) and Ananth (yoga and organisation).

The award will be conferred   by the pratishtana marking its 12th anniversary and Dr. Rajkumar birth anniversary celebration to take place at Namana Kalamantapa in Krishnamurthypuram at 10.30 am on May 3.

Noted agricultural scientist Dr. Vasanthkumar Thimakapura will inaugurate the programme in the gracious presence of Melukote Vangipura Mutt Seer Ilai Alwar Swamiji.

District Kannada Sahitya Parishat President Maddikere Gopal will preside, while Sugama Sangeetha Parishat President Dr. Nagaraj V.Bairy,  social worker K. Raghuram Vajpayee, Sandhya Suraksha Trust founder B.R. Nataraj Jois and columnist Niveditha will be the chief guests.

The event will also feature a talk on thespian Dr. Rajkumar by senior writer Dr. Satish Chandra.

Also, girl student M.P. Nidhishri, who has scored 96 percent  marks in Class X (CBSE) will be presented ‘Dr. Raj Pratibha Puraskara’ on the occasion. Following the stage programme, ‘Dr. Raj Kavya Gaurava’, a kavigoshti dedicated to Dr. Rajkumar will be held. For more details, contact Mob: 98457-91252, according to a press release.
