Mysore/Mysuru: The Government of Japan, on Apr. 29, announced the foreign recipients of the 2023 Spring Conferment of Decorations.

Sarita Sundaram, President, Teacher’s Association of Japanese, Mumbai, is among this year’s foreign recipients. She will receive the ‘Order of the Rising Sun, Gold and Silver Rays’ in recognition of her contributions to promoting Japanese language and culture in India and facilitating friendly relations between Japan and India.

The Consulate General of Japan in Mumbai has paid tribute to Sarita Sundaram for her distinguished service. Sarita is the daughter of Rtn. S. Sundaram, son of Subramanyam, former Director of CFTRI, Mysuru. Sundaram retired as Director incharge of new construction FIIN.

An expert in naval architecture, he worked in Indian shipyards, in Croatia and Japan.

He was the Past President of Rotary Mysore West.
