Selected for Kala Guru D.V. Halabhavi Award

Mysore/Mysuru: Purushotham Nayak has been selected for Kala Guru D.V. Halabhavi Award-2021 given annually by JSS Mahavidyapeetha in association with Bellada Shikshana Mattu Krishi Pratishtana, Dharwad. 

The award is given in recognition of Purushotham ’s achievements in the fields of Agriculture and Education.

The award carries a cash prize, a citation and a memento.

Son of K. Vittaladas Nayak and K. Meera Nayak, Purushotham developed interest towards art and served as the Principal of Mahalasa School of Art in Mangaluru till his retirement.

He had been a special invitee at various art camps held across the State including Badami, Pattadakal, Dharmasthala, Mysuru, Moodbidri and Mangaluru. He has also conducted art camps related to traditional art forms like Kinnala, Ganjifa and Kalamkari.
