Selected for ‘Kannada Vikasa Ratna’ award

Mysuru: Charan Kumar, a guest lecturer, has been selected for ‘Kannada Vikasa Ratna’ award given by Karnataka Rajya Vokka-ligara Vikasa Vedike during its ‘Kannada Habba’ programme to be held in Kirurangamandira on Dec. 25 in recognition of his writings.

A resident of Lakshmipura village, Naganahalli Post, Mysuru taluk, Charan has done MA and M.Phil apart from clearing KSET. He has been working as a Guest Lecturer for the past eight years.

He is also the President of Vishala Trust and Vishala Vidya Shale, Ammana Madilu Seva Samsthe and Ammana Madilu Seva Souhardha Sahakara Sangha.

He has 10 books to his credit — Halemane avara Rangageethegalu, Halemane avara Kiruparichaya, Nannuru, Dalita Jyoti Ambedkar, Ambedkar avara Nudimuttugalu (all in 2012), Ambedkar mattu Mahila Kanoonu, Ambedkar Vaani, Makkaligagi Ambedkar, Ambedkar Thoughts (all in 2015) and Dakshina Bharatada Itihasa (yet to be published).
