Nrithyothsava from tomorrow

Mysuru: Bharatiya Nritya Kala Parishath too has organised a three-day Dance Festival (Nrithyothsava) in memory of Natyacharya M. Vishnudas at Ganabharathi’s Veene Seshanna Bhavana in Kuvempunagar from Dec. 25.

More than 90 artistes will be participating in this fest from all over the State. Noted music and dance critic Dr. Rama V. Bennur will inaugurate the programme on Dec. 25 at 5.45 pm.

Programme Schedule

Dec. 25: Bharatanatyam recital from  6 pm to 6.30 pm: By Vidu. Srividya Rao of Sri Durga Nruthya Academy, Mysuru; 6.30 pm to 7 pm: By disciples of Bharatiya Nritya Kala Parishat, Chikkamagalur;  7 pm to 8 pm: By students of Vidu. Dr. Chethana Radhakrishna of Gurudeva Academy of Fine Arts, Mandya.

Dec. 26: Bharatanatyam recital from 6 pm to 6.15 pm: By Vidu. K.N. Seema, student of Natyacharya late M. Vishnudas; 6.15 pm to 7.15 pm: Students of Vidu. Usha Venugopal of  Noopura Nrutyanjali School of Dance, Chamarajanagar; 7.15 pm to 8.30 pm: Students of Vid. Unnat Jain of Natyakala Nivas Institute of Dance, Hassan.

Dec. 27: Stage programme from 5.45 pm to 6.30 pm. Kannada Rajyotsava awardee Vidu. Pankaja Ramakrishnaiah of Sri Sarweshwara Nritya Kala Mandira, Mysuru, will be the chief guest. Vidu. K.S. Ambale Rajeshwari, Director of Natyashri Bharatiya Sangeetha Nruthya Kala Shale, Hassan, Vidu. Usha Venugopal, Director of Noopura Nrutyanjali School of Dance and Vidu. Srilakshmi Kumar, Director of Sri Uma Maheswara Nruthya Kala Kshetra, Mysuru will be felicitated.  Vidu. M. Chandramathi, Hon.President and Vidu. Dr. Kumudini Achi, Hon. Secretary, will be present.

6.30 pm to 7.30 pm: Bharatanatyam recital by   Vidu. K.S. Ambale Rajeshwari and students of Natyashri Bharatiya Sangeetha Nruthya Kala Shale, Hassan; 7.30 pm to 7.45 pm: Vidu. Varija Nalige and troupe of Nandana Pradarshaka Kalegala Kendra, Mysuru; 7.45 pm to 8.30 pm: Students of Vidu. C.N.  Anitha of Nruthya Vidyapeeta, Mysuru.
