Seminar on Jagjivan Ram’s thoughts

Mysuru: Marking the 111th birth anniversary of former Deputy Prime Minister Dr. Babu Jagjivan Ram, a seminar on  ‘Relevance of Jagjivan Ram’s thoughts’ was organised jointly by Dr. Jagjivan Ram Studies, Research and Extension Centre and SC/ST Special                                                                                Cell, University of Mysore (UoM) at the Centre’s auditorium in Manasagangothri here yesterday. About 100 research scholars and students from Mysuru, Mandya, Hassan and Chikkamagalur participated in the seminar.

Inaugurating the programme, Mysore University In-charge Vice-Chancellor Prof. C. Basavaraju observed that the process of exercising franchise during any election was not as per the ethics of democratic system. He contended that interference was too much now in poll process.

UoM Registrar D. Bharathi was the chief guest. Centre Director K. Sadashiva presided.

SC/ST Cell Deputy Registrar Dr. S. Mahadevamurthy, Visiting Professor G. Ramarathan and others attended the seminar.
