Seven units of RTPS shut down due to heavy rain

June 11, 2018

Raichur:  Seven units of the Raichur Thermal Power Station (RTPS) were shut down yesterday resulting in the reduction for power generation in the State.

Production in six units of 210 MW each and the 250-MW unit eight were suspended. RTPS officials said that 180 MW of power is being produced out of a total of 1,720 MW. Similarly, two units of 800 MW each have stopped production at the Yermarus Thermal Power Station. The units were shut down following heavy rains, which resulted in an increase in production in the hydel units and also from wind and solar energy sources.
