Sharath (42), a well-known football player and a resident of Srikantapuri Layout, passed away on Monday at a private hospital following brief illness. Son of D.K. Siddappa, Sharath was a member of Sports Union Football Club and was its forward player. He leaves behind his parents, wife and two children.

Last rites were performed at his farm in Devarasanahalli in the taluk on Monday.
