Shettar, Minister Boseraju and Thippannappa elected unopposed to Legislative Council

June 24, 2023

Bengaluru: As expected, Congress candidates — former Chief Minister Jagadish Shettar, Minister for Minor Irrigation N.S. Boseraju and senior party leader Thippannappa Kamakanur — were elected unopposed to the Legislative Council on Friday.

The three were officially  declared elected unopposed by Returning Officer Vishalakshi  yesterday, as only three candidates remained in the fray after the deadline for withdrawal of nominations ended on Friday.

The seats had fallen vacant following the resignation of the then BJP members Laxman Savadi, Baburao Chinchanasur and R. Shankar, who quit their posts to contest the May 10 Assembly elections.
