Mandi Police holds peace meeting with religious heads ahead of Bakrid

Mysore/Mysuru: With Bakrid festival to be celebrated on June 29, Mandi Police, led by Inspector Nagesh, held a peace meeting with various religious leaders at the Police Station on Thursday.

Addressing the meeting, Inspector Nagesh urged the people to celebrate Bakrid in a peaceful manner and not give room to any untoward incidents to take place. He also warned of initiating legal action against those disturbing peace in the society.

Religious heads should guide the youths in maintaining peace to prevent disturbance, said Inspector Nagesh.

After hearing the suggestions given by various religious heads, he said that the Police Department will take necessary steps to ensure peaceful celebration of the festival.

Sub-Inspectors Rangaswamy and Revanna Siddappa, former Corporator Suhail Baig, Mustafa, Sooraj, Rafiq, Altaf Ahmed, Kumar, Manju and others were present at the meeting.
