South Zone Inter-University Women’s Cricket Tournament – 2025: Brilliant century by Yogyasri guides University of Madras to victory

Udvitha, Devika shine for Adikavi Nannaya University

Mysuru: A brilliant century by Yogyasri Kosuri (106 runs) guided University of Madras to a massive 341-run victory against Koneru Lakshmaiah Education Foundation at the ongoing South Zone Inter-University Women’s Cricket Tournament at Manasagangothri Grounds here yesterday.

Having asked to bat first, University of Madras posted mammoth 392 runs for the loss of three wickets in the allotted 25 overs. Yogyasri, who scored the first century of the tournament, was ably assisted by M.S. Aishwarya with a half century (55 runs). In reply, Koneru Lakshmaiah Education Foundation (KLEF) was bundled out for 51 runs in 17.2 overs. Anaswara Santhosh picked up four wickets giving away just six runs for University of Madras.

In the other match at JSS-SJCE Grounds, Adikavi Nannaya University scored an impressive 291 runs victory posting a target of 343 runs against Alagappa University. G. Udvitha (133) and Devika Kandregula (125) were the top scorers for Nannaya University. In reply, Alagappa University could only manage to score 66 runs losing eight wickets in 25 overs. K. Saipoojitha ended up scalping six wickets giving away 24 runs).

University of Madras: 392/3 in 25 overs (Yogyasri Kosuri 106, M.S. Aishwarya 55) beat KLEF: 51 all out in 17.2 overs (Anaswara Santhosh 4 for 6).

SDNR Wadiyar Stadium

VTU: 189 for 6 in 25 overs (Solka Kishore 71 runs, A.J. Pravanika 35 not out) beat Acharya Nagarjuna University: 69 all out in 25 overs (C.J. Sirri 4 for 17).

Osmania University: 187 for 5 in 25 overs (Akanksha 93, Sakshi Rao 33 runs) beat Madurai Kamaraj University: 66 for 8 in 25 overs (Mahima Goud 3 for 6).

At JSS-SJCE Grounds

Adikavi Nannaya University: 342 in 25 overs (G. Udvitha 133, Devika Kandregula 125), beat Alagappa University: 51 all out in 10.3 overs (K. Saipoojitha 6 for 24).

Anna University: 84 all out in 25 overs (Dirisha Suresh 26, M.V. Neha 4 for 8, Elza 3 for 11) lost to University of Kerala: 88/9 in 20.3 overs (Pavithra 21).

Maharaja College Grounds 

Saveetha Institute of Medical and Technical Sciences: 67/10 in 17.3 overs (Nandini Patel 2 for 7, Jayashree Rajshekar 2 for 3) lost to Karnataka State Akkamahadevi Women’s University: 71/2 in 6.5 overs (Samruddhi A. Kotyal 27 runs).

Sri Venkateshwara University: 202/5 in 25 overs (M. Anusha 91) beat Kakatiya University: 141/6 in 25 overs                         (K. Hamsa 2 for 17).
