Specially made marker pens for pulse polio drive

August 7, 2017

Mysuru: MYLAC has made marker pens with special ink that can be used to mark the fingers of kids who have been administered with polio drops from this year, said MYLAC Chairman H.A. Venkatesh.

Disclosing this at a press conference at Patrakarthara Bhavan here this morning, Venkatesh said that as it is common for kids to keep their fingers in their mouth, MYLAC has used special ingredients which is safe for them and added that the maker pens have been sent to a laboratory in Hyderabad for analysis.

He said that the 3ml marker pen could be used for marking fingers of 350-400 children and added that if the World Health Organisation (WHO) approves the ink, MYLAC would supply the same across the country.
