Mysuru:  Sri Krishna Gana Sabha has arranged Sri Jayachamaraja Wadiyar Centenary Music concerts on Sept. 21 and 22 at 6 pm at Alwar Kala Bhavan, Gokulam.

On 21st, vocal concert is by Vid. S.M. Nagachetan. Accompanying artistes are Vid. H.S. Thandava Murthy on violin, Vid. M.R. Manjunath on mridanga and Vid.M.J. Kiran Kumar on ghata. On 22nd at 6pm, flute concert will be by Vid. Dr. C.A. Sridhar and his son Vid. C.S. Keshava Chandra. Accompanying artistes are Vid. H.K. Narasimha Murty on violin, Vid. G.S. Ramanujam on mridanga and Vid. V.S. Ramesh on ghata.

 S.M. Nagachetan completed Vidwat Exam with Distinction and is pursuing advanced Karnatak music training under Guru Padma Sri awardee Sangita Kala Acharya Vid. R.N. Thyagarajan (Rudrapatnam Brothers).

 He learnt classical vocal from 2001 to 2012 under Guru Karnataka Kalashree Belakavadi Rangaswamy Iyengar. He had initial musical training under  his mother B.V. Shakunthala and Vidu. Bhagyalakshmi Gundu Rao.

He has been performing since 2000 at various Music festivals, Sabhas and chamber concerts. He has many awards to his credit.

Dr. C.A. Sridhar, an internationally acclaimed versatile artiste, is a gifted Flautist, Vocalist, Musicologist, Music Composer, Researcher (Inter & Intra disciplinary) Research Guide, Art Historian and popularly known as Walking Encyclopedia of Music. At present he is the Professor and Head, Department of Music at the Fine Arts College of the University of Mysore. He is also the Editor of Encyclopaedia of Fine Arts, University of Mysore.

Being a disciple of great saint composer Sadguru Venkatanarayana Udupa Shastry who belonged to the Shishyaparampara of Sadguru Sri Thyagaraja and also his Illustrious mother Vidushi C.S. Sathyalakshmi, he was also guided by Vidwan V. Deshikackar. He started presenting Flute concert at the age of 14. Since then he has been performing all over India and abroad, enthralling the audience for more than four decades. An A graded artiste of AIR and Doordarshan, he has the credit of presenting his Flute concert in Akashvani Sangeet Sammelan, National programme of Music in both AIR and Doordarshan. 

Dr. Sridhar has several prestigious coveted awards and honours to his credit — All India Radio Award, Prasar Bharti Doordarshan Chandana Award, Ananya Shastra Koustubha Award, Bharatha Vidya Shiromani Award, Research Excellence Award, T. Chowdaiah Award.

Vid. C.S. Keshava Chandra is the son and disciple of Dr. C.A. Sridhar. As a child prodigy,  Keshava Chandra was initiated into Karnatak  Music (Vocal and Flute) at the tender age of six and at the age of fourteen he started to give Flute concert with his father and his elder sister Vidu. C.S. Kalyani. Since then he has been presenting his Flute concerts in and outside Karnataka. He is following the footsteps of his father pertaining to musical presentation and Flute playing techniques and is emerging as a highly promising flautist. He has bagged several prizes and trophies for his Musical talent and presentation. He is the recipient of  the prestigious All India Radio Award for Flute-2018 in the wind Instrument’s group at National-level.
