Staging of play, felicitation to mark World Theatre Day

Mysuru: As part of  World Theatre Day, Natana Rangashale will be staging the play ‘E Kelaginavaru’ at Natana Rangashale in Ramakrishnanagar on Mar.27 and 28 at 6 pm. An adaptation of Maxim Gorky’s play ‘Lower Depths’ by B.T. Desai,  ‘E Kelaginavaru’ is directed by Mandya Ramesh.

Actor Director Ramesh Aravind, Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) Secretary M.K. Savitha, Rangayana Joint Director V.N. Mallikarjunaswamy and humorist M. Krishnegowda will be the chief guests on Mar.27.

Theatre artiste and Assistant Professor N. Dhananjaya will read out World Theatre Day message.

Felicitation to theatre  personalities

Rangaratnakara, Jnanabharati, Bengaluru, will be felicitating the following State Award and Nataka Academy Award winners at a programme organised at Town Hall in city on Mar. 27 at 11 am, commemorating World Theatre Day:

Rajyotsava awardee Y.M. Puttanaiah (Mysuru), Nataka Academy Awardees Choudappa Das (Hassan), Mandya Ramesh (Mysuru), S.S. Gayathri (Mysuru) and Kalkere Narasimhamurthy (Tumakuru) and Sangeetha Nritya Academy awardee Karnataka Kalasri Hulikal Nagaraj (Tumakuru). Karnataka Nataka Academy Member Dr. Ganesh Aminagada will inaugurate the programme. Karnataka Nataka Academy Member Honna Nayaka will preside.

Mysuru District Amateur Theatre Artists Association,  along with Karnataka Nataka Academy and Department of Kannada and Culture, has also organised World Theatre Day celebrations at Mini Theatre in Kalamandira on Mar.27 at 6.30 pm.

Rangayana Director Bhagirathi Bai Kadam, Kannada and Cultural Department  Assistant Director H. Chennappa and former Rangayana Director H. Janardhan will be the chief guests.

Ranga Samaja Member Chandrakanth and Nataka Academy Member Honna Nayaka and  Dr. Ganesh Aminagada will be present. On the occasion, Rajyotsava awardee Y.M. Puttanniah, Nataka Academy Award winner S.S. Gayathri and Theatre artiste Mandya Ramesh will be felicitated.

N. Harish will deliver World Theatre Day message. Rangageethe (Theatre Songs) will be rendered by Y.M. Puttannaiah, Chandrashekara Heggotara, Shivaji Rao Jadhav, Raghavendra Boodanoor and Devananda Varaprasad.
