Start Express Train from Mysuru to Goa

January 9, 2023

Sir,

There are nearly five lakh people hailing from Udupi, Mangaluru and Uttara Kannada living in and around Mysuru. They have to travel to their natives, either by bus or car, which is difficult mainly in the case of aged people.

On several occasions, we have requested the Central Government, Railway Minister and MPs of Mysuru, Mangaluru and Udupi to introduce Mysuru – Goa Train.

There are two Express Trains from Mysuru to Chennai — one is Shatabdi and another is Vande Bharat.

There are 13 different organisations in Mysuru having their roots in Dakshina Kannada including Mangaluru and Uttara Kannada.

Once again we request Union Railway Minister and the Central Government to start a new Express Train between Mysuru and Goa.

  3. Dr Ashoka HN says:

Very useful to students also . And this work will be remembered much as this route is most neglected apart from airways.

  4. Rao Bhamidimarri says:

    Hey posters
You all seem to be massive dimwits. The new express train ‘Vande Bharat’ was put into operation to help Tamils to travel from Chennai to Bangalore and back. If you look at Bangalore, a large swathe of it feels and sounds like part of Chennai, with so many Tamils settled there, who hardly speak Kannada.
Your idiotic MP Simha went along with Narendra Modi , who favoured Tamil Nadu. This express extended to Mysore, not to help Mysore, but to help, Tamils from Chennai to arrive and settle . Tamil Nadu is heavily populated, with a density of population far exceeding that of Karnataka. Hence, the interest for Mysore.
As for your express to Goa, do you think your MP Simha cares? The air connection was to bring tourists from there to Mysore, as tourism helps ministers, politicians, and officials to pocket money!

  5. Arun says:

Yes we need special train Gao to Mysore
Not only Pratap simha all our Karnataka region MLA MP should support this
    For tourists also it benefits

  6. Naveen Urs says:

Sir, Kindly extend the train from Bangalore to karwar, starting from Mysore to Goa.

  7. Pratap simha has done many good things to Mysore and he is capable of doing this also. You are not capable enough to recognise his contribution to Mysore.

  10. G Narayana Gowda says:

Yes he has done lot of things even Our Mysuru rulers could not do do much for the state.
He is only worried about his TRPs,wants to be on Media glare.None of our MPs are capable to get a train.
Off cource the exception was Late Suresh Angadi MP Belgaum. He could get one express train to Belgavi to Bengaluru.
As some once said We have 6 trains to TN which include 4 to Chennai from Mysuru including Vande Bharat n Shatabdi which only help Tamil people to come n settle in Mysuru.

  11. Ali Arshad Hussain says:

Very useful to mysoreans. Already tracks are there, route is Mysore,Hassan, arsikere, hubli,londa,vascodagama..it boost tourism also for Mysore.

  12. Michael says:

Prior to undertaking the double track at Mysore we had a train starting to Mangalore at 7 pm. It was abruptly stopped and after an uproar we were assured that it would be restored. After the completion of double track it was completely forgotten despite appeals. One version is the bus owners lobby who are working against restoring the train to Mangalore from Mysore. So much about the concern for citizens by the Government.

  13. nandesh says:

  18. Ajayram198 says:

Hassan – Mangalore line is one of the most neglected sectors in the whole of IR. Just 2 or 3 trains and no trains originating from Mangalore/ Mysore to other parts of Karnataka like Belgaum, Hubli, Bidar, Gulbarga. Even highways that run from Bangalore to outside Karnataka are developed, eg the new Chennai- Bangalore Expressway. But Bangalore- Mangalore highway near Western Ghat section is in utter shambles, pathetic condition. Step motherly treatment. Mangalore Port is as important as Chennai port, but Govt is interested in Only connecting Karnataka that too only Bangalore to other states & encouraging migration from there, but not focussing on intra state connectivity. No wonder other parts of North Karnataka are lagging behind South Karnataka. And uncontrolled migration results in Bangalore population explosion, more unending metro construction where again corrupt political goondas pockets 40% commission. Never ending vicious cycle!!

  19. Mukunda Kini says:

Due to bus owners lobby existing train from Mysore- Mangalore- karwar (Train no 16523/16524) was stopped… Now its doubtful they will start new train

  20. Rao Bhamidimarri says:

    @Ajayram and other posters
    @Ajayram
You are very right in your reasoning citing transport links to Bangalore, and now to Mysore, as a means of encouraging immigration from the neighbouring state of Tamil Nadu. You will see in coming years, good rail links to Kerala, with Hassan-Kodagu-Kerala highway in operation after its development.
Narendra Modi is under high pressure from Tamil Nadu and Kerala CMs, to facilitate easy movement of their people to Karnataka, partiularly to Mysore, which these CMs see as a very low population density area, which can accommodate thousands of their people., The new express the Vande Bharat is a start for this purpose.
You will see that there will be non-stop flights from Abu Dhabi, UAE, once Mysore airport is able to receive medium hall jetliners like the A 320 and 737. Narendra Modi, a few months ago, on a stop over at Abu Dhabi, promised the Keralite businessmen resident there, the above non-stop flight service. These are very businessmen , undwr their cover are smuggling gold into Kerala , through its 4 airports, and want to expand their business to Mysore. They also want to expand
You will see plenty of Audis, BMWs and Mercedes cars speeding along the Mysore-Bangalore highway, op their Hawala channel money operations into Mysore, which atre increasing now through the Wayanad-Nanjangud-Mysore corridtor, but the above Keralite crime bosses, want expansion of these operations too . The Mysore-Bangalore highway, facilitates them , once the Abu Dhabi-Mysore non-stop flights come into operation, for the distribution of this smuggled gold, and expansion of the Hawala channel money operations into Mandya, Maddur, Channapatna, Ramanagara etc..
You will then see plenty of Audis, BMWs, and Merdedes cars owned and driven by these gold distributors, and Hawala operators speeding along the Mysore-Bangalore highway.
As for the intrastate rail links and raod links, they are not planned because, there is no pressure from people, and Bommai BJP government does nothing until the pressure comes from Narendra Modi and his team. They are not interested in the intrastate links in Karnataka.
Forget, posters the rail link to Goa, the idiot MP Simha will say, there is airlink to Goa.

  24. Srinivasan says:

Y to question the trains running between Mysore And Chennai. Traini is needed between Goa And Mysore. Instead of justifying the requirement based on language writing comments not at all advisable.

  25. D N BHATKAL says:

Train to Goa from Mysore has to be taken up on priority basis.MP’s from Mysore and Udupi are politically capable of doing this if it is brought to their notice

  33. A. V A says:

It would to have a train route from Goa to Ooty via Mysore. Good for tourism.

  34. Binesh says:

This can be easily achieved if Mysore Mangalore express is extended to Madgaon. One intercity from Bangalore via Mysore to Madgaon can solve the problem

  35. Sudees says:

Some idiots here spewing venom, need saffron hatred train..who divides this country based on state and religion, this desh drohies need to mindset change, not just launching new train

  36. Venugopal says:

It will also boost tourism in Goa n hence it will be beneficial to the Railway as well. Please give a thought

  37. Rome says:

This will also boost tourism in Mysore, as foreigners come here to learn Yoga. And Mysore is Yoga Capital along with beautiful State to experience and explore.
I always notice Mysore Goa flight foreigners traveling.

  38. Sitaram says:

Mysore to Goa /Goa to Mysore train via Karwar will be helpful to coastal areas people’s

  39. Mysore nonu says:

Buses are the milk cow for politicians and the bus owners have not allowed this to happen. Same issue was there to Mangalore earlier and the train came 25 years later although tracks existed. I guess this train will not come because the bus owners lobby is very strong and the fares are high.

  40. Srinivasa says:

Purspose is solved if Mysore to Dharwad express train extended upto Panaji ..
