Mysuru’s Soumya Jain selected in High School category

Bengaluru: The Department of Public Instruction has announced the State-level Best Teachers Award list with names of 31 teachers for the year 2018. Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy will distribute the awards at a function to be held at the Banquet Hall of Vidhana Soudha tomorrow (Sept.5) as part of Teachers’ Day.

Mysuru’s R. Soumya Jain, wife of  Apthamithra-fame Dance Guru Sridhar Jain of Nimishamba Dance School and who teaches in Government High School, Varuna, has been selected for the State Award among the 11 teachers in the High School category.  It may be recalled, she was conferred the Best Teacher award at District-level in the same school in 2016.

Out of the 31 teachers selected, 20 are in Primary School category and 11 in High School category. K.N. Manjunath of Ponnampet, Kodagu, is the other recipient in HS category.
