State-level convention of music scholars at SGS Ashrama concludes today

Mysuru: The valedictory of the State-level Convention of Senior and Young Music Scholars organised by Karnataka Ganakala Parishat, Bengaluru, as part of the 75th Vardhanti of Sri Ganapathy Sachchidananda Swamiji, was held at Nada Mantapa in Ganapathy Ashrama on Ooty Road here this morning.

On the occasion, Vidu. T.S. Vasanthamadhavi was conferred with ‘Ganakala Bhushana’ title along with Sri Vadiraja Award that carries a cash prize of Rs. 30,000; Vid. B.C. Manjunath was conferred with  ‘Ganakala Sri’ title along with Ramasudha Award that carries a cash prize of Rs. 15,000.

Dayananda Mohite, Bengaluru                                                         (ghata); Vid. G.R. Jaya (vocal), K.N. Venkatanarayana (art patron), all from Bengaluru, Vid. K.S. Nagabhushanaiah, Kolar (violin) and Vidu. Lalitachalam, Tumakuru (vocal) were honoured with ‘Sadas Sanman’ on the occasion.

Karnataka Ganakala Parishat also conferred ‘Ganakala Yogi’ title on Sri Ganapathy Swamiji. Rs. 10 lakh was donated to Karnataka Ganakala Parishat by the Ashrama on the occasion.

Earlier, the musicians were brought in the procession to Nada Mantapa in the Ashrama premises. Junior Pontiff Sri Datta Vijayananda Teertha Swamiji, Karnataka Ganakala Parishat President Vid. R.K. Padmanabha and others were present.
