‘Stop caste and cash centric politics’: Union Minister gives tips to city BJP leaders

Mysuru: Union Minister of State for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Anant Kumar Hegde has asked local BJP leaders and party workers to stop caste-based politics.

Addressing the party workers at a function hall in Nazarbad here yesterday, Hegde stressed on the need for new ideas other than caste or cash.

Pointing out that the BJP should stop caste and cash centric politics, Hegde said that it was important for the BJP to win 12 of the 15 Assembly seats in Mysuru and Chamarajanagar districts.

Asserting that the party’s ‘Parivartana Yatra’ has been attracting large crowds across the State, Hedge said that the people wanted the BJP in power and that the party should not let go the chance.

Stating that transparency will be maintained in the selection of party candidates, he said that the Party High Command was watching  every leader closely.

Emphasising on the need for maintaining unity and proper co-ordination among local party leaders and workers, he asked those who are willing to rebel against the party to quit the party now itself.

Stating that every MP has been tasked with ensuring the victory of the party candidates in at-least two Assembly segments, the Union Minister said that he himself has been assigned the responsibility of Gokak and Belagavi North Assembly segments.

Claiming that there were more number of aspirants for the party tickets in Mysuru, Hegde said that politicians should not compromise with their stand on issues.

Lashes out at CM

Hitting out at Chief Minister Siddharamaiah for making irresponsible remarks against Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he wondered where did Siddharamaiah’s ‘Samskruti’ go when he (CM) addressed former CM  B.S. Yeddyurappa in singular.

Defending his attack on Siddharamaiah in singular, Hegde reiterated that unity holds key to the success of party candidate in the forthcoming Assembly polls.

City BJP President Dr. B.H. Manjunath, District President Kote M. Shivanna, Deputy Mayor Rathna Lakshman, Corporator Nandeesh Preetham, leaders L. Nagendra, H.V. Rajeev, C. Basavegowda, Phanish, Satish and others were present.
