Stop overflow of sewage water

February 10, 2025

Sir,

Citizens have been facing a severe problem for the past five to six days on the road near the gate of Vidyavardhaka College of Engineering, connecting to the Kannada Sahitya Parishat Road as sewage water is overflowing from a manhole, forcing college students, the public, and commuters to cover their noses while passing by.

Early in the morning, sewage water gushes out of the manhole and floods the entire road, creating a foul-smelling and hazardous situation for two-wheeler riders who fear losing control of their vehicles.

With the recent increase in dengue and chikungunya cases in city, this unsanitary environment could further contribute to the spread of these illnesses.

It is disheartening to see that despite the Mysuru City Corporation authorities constantly raising awareness about cleanliness and prioritising it, the same Corporation is creating conditions that foster the breeding of diseases.
