Streamlining buses on Ring Road and some suggestions

August 11, 2024

Sir,

Glad to read the news ‘KSRTC buses on Ring Road’ in Star of Mysore dated Aug. 4. Finally, the KSRTC authorities are planning to run city buses on our Ring Road to connect one half end to the other half end of our city. However, there is no bus connection announced from:

Manandavadi-Ring Road Junction to Bandipalya APMC Ring Road Junction.

Manipal Hospital to Narayana Hrudayalaya (many bus passengers from Mandya and K.R. Pet may wish to go up to T. Narasipur; even APMC may benefit if they extend the other half end up to Manipal Hospital).

Suggestions to KSRTC to reduce traffic load at existing bus stand:

The authorities may plan to run a few Bengaluru non-stop and express buses from Naidunagar and Sathagalli Bus Stands. En route, a few buses bound for Bengaluru coming from Nanjangud/ K.R. Nagar/ Hunsur side can reach Naidunagar Bus Stand and a few to Sathagalli Bus Stand and proceed to Bengaluru on Ring Road. Such buses may turn to Mahadeshwara Road after Hardinge Circle to reach Naidunagar/ Sathagalli Bus Stands. Residents of that area will use this facility happily.

KSRTC authorities may plan to run buses to Bengaluru/ Hassan/ Madikeri side from J.P. Nagar, covering Vivekanandanagar, Ramakrishnanagar Circle, Vijaya Bank Circle, Sharadadevinagar, Nivedithanagar and then Ring Road junctions of R.R. Nagar, Bogadi, Vijayanagar 3rd/ 4th Stages & Hinkal Flyover.

Bengaluru buses may even cover Bharat Cancer Hospital and KRS Road Junction before reaching Manipal Hospital Junction. This may gradually reduce the existing traffic at the current Suburban Bus Stand.

People residing in the heart of the city, tourists and those wishing to travel to other places or States will happily and conveniently use the existing facility.
