Nanjangud, Nov. 5 (RS&KS)- Two students, who went for a swim at a Canal in Nanjangud, met their watery grave yesterday.

The deceased are T.S. Mahadevaprasad (17), son of Siddaraju and K.S. Preetham (17), son of D.Y. Sreenivasa Gowda. Both were pursuing their first year diploma course at SJCE Polytechnic in Mysuru.

Mahadevaprasad on Sunday had brought his classmates Preetham and Eerabasappa Basavaraja Savanoor of Bagalkot to his village.

Yesterday afternoon, the trio went to the canal for a swim and Mahadevaprasad and Preetham ventured into the waters. Preetham, who did not know how to swim, began to drown and Mahadevaprasd rushed to his help but both got drowned, said Eerabasappa.
