Students run in city for women empowerment

Mysuru:  The Students Council of Sri Jayachamarajendra College of Engineering (SJCE) had organised a run for women empowerment in city this morning.

The run was held under three categories — SJCE students, other college students and open 45+ age — each separately for men and women.

The distance for men was 7 kms and for women it was 5.8 kms. About 500 people participated in the event.

The run was flagged off by Industrialist Raghu at SJCE premises. The run passed through Bogadi Road, Saraswathipuram Fire Brigade and back to starting point.

Winners

SJCE Students – Men: Suresh and Women: Rohini.

Other students – Men: Sridhar and Women: Archana.

Open 45+ only Men: 1. Harish and 2. Nagesh.

A short distance run was also organised for children where Yashswini, Pavan Kumar and Bhuvan won the first three prizes.

SJCE Students Welfare Officer Dr. C. Nataraj and others were present.
