Mysuru: Various organisations including the Bahujana Vidhyarthi Sangha (BVS), University of Mysore Research Scholars Association, Mysore District Journalists’ Association (MDJA) held protests at Manasagangothri and in front of Deputy Commissioner’s office respectively against the murder of senior journalist Gauri Lankesh, here, this morning.
Members of Mysuru District Journalists Association (MDJA) protested in front of the Deputy Commissioner’s office condemning the incident and also seeking immediate arrest of the killers. Later, they submitted a memorandum to ADC T. Yogesh. MDJA President C.K. Mahendra, Gen. Secretary K.J. Lokesh Babu, Andolana Editor Rajashekara Koti, MDJA former President K. Shivakumar, Star of Mysore Chief Reporter S.T. Ravikumar and others were present.
Meanwhile, the Post Graduate students of University of Mysore also condemned the murder of Gauri Lankesh. Students assembled near the Humanities Block and offered condolences by offering floral tributes to Gauri Lankesh’s portrait.
