Dy.SP M.K. Ganapathy’s Wife welcomes CBI probe

September 6, 2017

Madikeri: K.K. Pavana, wife of Dy.SP M.K. Ganapathy, has said that the family has got justice to some extent with the Supreme Court ordering a CBI probe into her husband’s death.

“I welcome the CBI probe. The family had demanded a CBI probe. But we did not get enough support in the beginning. I will stand by my father-in-law Kushalappa and brother-in-law M.K. Machaiah in this fight,” she said.

Pavana said she was unaware of the developments related to the tampering of evidences by the CID team. “Ganapathy did not bring any laptop home. However, he used to mention that he was harassed by some people. He had told the same before the media too,” she added.

She clarified that she had to withdraw herself from lodging a private complaint as her children’s education was affected during the CID probe and she did not want the inquiries to bother them.

Ganapathy’s father 78-year-old Kushalappa was living a peaceful retired life till July 2016. His son’s death changed things. Kushalappa, who until then preferred an outing once a month to his hometown, had to appear for 50 hearings in different Courts before the SC ordered a CBI probe. “There’s still a long way to go but I will carry on with the fight to get justice,” said Kushalappa.
