Mysore/Mysuru: SBM Manju, former Corporator of MCC Ward 6 (Gokulam-Brindavan Extension) has appealed the MCC to incorporate his suggestions in the forthcoming budget.
In a press release, Manju said “With sandalwood trees grown in the city parks being cut and smuggled every other day, the authorities must take action for protection of sandalwood trees. MCC must allot a substantial amount for taking care of poor specially abled children as most of the parents cannot afford proper care.”
“The MCC in the past used to supply drinking water for free under Jalabhagya Scheme. But now the MCC has started issuing water bills to the beneficiaries for all past use of water, which has come as a shock to them. With the beneficiaries willing to pay water bills in future, the MCC should facilitate payments accordingly,” he added.
“MCC must also hike the pension being paid to eligible sick persons from current Rs.15,000 to Rs.25,000 as treatment costs are increasing,” Manju and urged the MCC to hike the allotment of grants for funding education of poor children in MCC limits.
