Mysuru: Supriya Salian has become the first woman Chairperson of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Mysuru Zone, for the year 2022-23.

Speaking after taking charge during the CII Mysuru Zone Annual Members Day at Hotel Radisson Blu here on Friday, she said: “I feel extremely privileged to taking over as the next CII Mysuru Chairperson. CII Mysuru has been led by very able and eminent professionals in the past and I am humbled by the opportunity to take their work and efforts forward.”

“Being the first woman to take this position is indeed an honour  and I am optimistic that this will inspire more women to come forward to be a part of CII Mysuru,”                     she said.

Continuing she said, “I am looking forward to learn from the guidance of all the past Chairmen, bring in some of my own flavour and continue the efforts of CII Mysuru  in representing the industry landscape of Mysuru.”

“On one hand, we see the pandemic situation improving and normalcy reverting. We also see Mysuru evolving as an important hub in the digital and electronics space — with a cyber security cell being set up, with the new highway getting close to completion and many other areas. CII Mysuru has been closely associated with many of these activities  and I hope to take these forward. I am looking forward to interact with local governing authorities and represent the interests of the industry as well,” she added.

Supriya Salian did her Bachelor in Electrical Engineering from SJCE in the year 2001 and completed her Master’s in Electrical and Computer Engineering from University of Colorado, USA.
