Suttur JSS Schools bag overall championship

Mysuru: JSS Higher Primary School and JSS High School, Suttur, Nanjangud taluk, have bagged the Overall Championship in the three-day JSS Inter-Institutional Sports Meet held in memory of Sri Shivarathri Rajendra Swamiji at Suttur from Nov. 28 to Nov. 30, 2022 by winning highest number of prizes in different categories.

Prize Winners of JSS Higher Primary School

Boys’ Category: Ambarish – 2nd prize in 600 mts running race; Karan – 3rd prize in 400 mts running; K. Tarun – 1st prize in 200 mts running; Pawan Kumar – 2nd prize in 100 mts race; Yashwanth – 1st prize in high-jump and 1st prize in discuss-throw; Nikhil – 2nd prize in long-jump and 3rd prize in shot-put.

Team Sports: 1st prize in 4×100 mts relay; 1st in Kabbadi. Rohith was declared ‘The Best Kho-Kho Attacker.’

Individual Championship: Yashwanth (13 points).

Girls’ Category: Ranjitha – 1st prize in 600 mts running race; Sakshi – 1st in 200 mts and 1st in 100 mts running; Ayisha – 3rd in shot-put; Tanmayi – 3rd in discuss-throw; Reshma – 3rd in high-jump; Deepika –  1st in long-jump and 2nd in  600 mts running.

Team Sports: 1st in 4×100 mts relay; 2nd in Kabbadi.

Individual Championship: Sakshi (10 points).

Girls bagged 3rd prize in march-past. The School bagged ‘Overall Championship’ in both boys (43 points) and girls (37 points) categories.

JSS High School

Boys’ Category: T.S. Vinay – 1st in 100 mts and 2nd in 200 mts running; M.C. Basavaraju – 2nd in 1,500 mts running; B.S. Rohith – 3rd in discuss-throw.

Team Sports: 1st in 4×100 mts relay; 1st in Kho-Kho.  Prakash was declared ‘The Best Kho-Kho Player.’

Girls’ Category: Rachana-

shree – 1st in long-jump, 2nd in 100 mts and 2nd in 200 mts running; Meghana – 2nd in 400 mts running; Thanushree – 3rd  in 800 mts running; Hakamanmi – 2nd in high-jump, 2nd in discuss-throw and 3rd in javelin-throw.

Team Sports: 1st in 4×100 mts relay, 1st in Kho-Kho and 3rd in Throwball.
