Mysuru: The 350-bed swanky new hospital that has come up on the KRS Road near Kumbarkoppal Gate will cater to the poor and the common man and the treatment will be on the lines of five-star experience, said Sri Jayadeva Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences and Research Director Dr. C. N. Manjunath.
He was addressing a press conference here yesterday at the Institute premises and said that the work on the hospital is complete and Chief Minister Siddharamaiah will inaugurate it on Mar.10 at 11 am. The Institute will be fully functional in another four to six weeks, he added.
All the treatment and the facilities that are available in Bengaluru Jayadeva Hospital will also be available here, he said.
The Government has given a grant of Rs.150 crore to set up the hospital and the Institute has invested an additional Rs.60 crore to buy equipments. The Institute is built on a 15 acre plot and is spread over 344,874 sq.ft and it has three storeys.
The 350-bed hospital has four operation theatres, four cardiac Cathlabs, three Intensive Coronary Units, Cardiac CT and MRI facilities. It also has general wards, special wards, deluxe wards, Echo unit, TMT unit and other facilities, he said.
“The Jayadeva hospital is currently functioning in the KR Hospital premises and all the facilities will soon shift to the new premises. In the ground floor there are waiting rooms, resting rooms, dispensary, bank, out-patient department, special out-patient department, laboratories and many other facilities are located,” said Dr. Manjunath.
The ground floor will also have the Administrative wing, Director’s Chambers, Staff room, Board Room, Emergency Treatment Unit, Blood Bank unit and Medical Documentation Record room. In the first floor there is 200-seater auditorium, two 17-bed emergency treatment units, Operation Theatre, Semi-Special Ward and Special wards, he said.
In the second floor there are laboratories, Operation Theatres, General Wards and Deluxe wards. On the third floor there are general wards, classrooms and seminar halls, he added.
The 110-bed Jayadeva Hospital was started in K.R. Hospital premises in 2010. So far 4.5 lakh patients have been treated out of which 40,000 have been treated as outpatients. Further, 16,500 patients have undergone Angiogram, 7,600 Angioplasty, 1.75 lakh echo cardiogram treatment, ECG has been done on 2.76 lakh patients, 350 have undergone balloon valvuloplasty and 450 patients have pacemaker implants. The patients can utilise all health benefit schemes of the government and those with private life health insurance can also avail the treatments in the Institute, said Dr. Manjunath.
Treat patient first
“Our policy is to first treat the patient and then demand treatment charges. Besides this Institute’s primary concern is humanity. Even if the patients do not have documents, we will give them treatment first,” he explained.
