T.K. Layout Maruthi Temple Road needs attention

January 17, 2026

Sir,

I would like to draw your immediate attention to the extremely bad condition of the Maruthi Temple Road in T.K. Layout following the completion of Underground Drainage (UGD) works. Although the UGD work was completed some time ago, the road has not been restored properly and remains highly damaged.

The road surface is uneven and loose, with mud, stones and potholes. This has made daily movement very difficult and unsafe for residents. The situation becomes worse during dry weather due to excessive dust and during rains due to slush and water stagnation.

A major additional concern is the regular plying of city buses on this damaged road. Due to the heavy movement of buses, a large amount of dust is generated throughout the day, causing serious breathing discomfort, especially for senior citizens, children and patients.

The vibration and load from buses are further damaging the already weak road surface and increasing the risk of accidents.

Several senior citizens reside on this road and the current condition has made their day-to-day life extremely difficult. Walking has become risky and access for emergency vehicles is also affected. In view of the above, we request the authorities to inspect the road immediately and carry out proper restoration work with quality materials and temporarily stop or divert city bus services on this route until the road repair work is fully completed, in the interest of public safety and health.

Hope the authorities concerned will treat this matter as urgent, considering the health, safety and dignity of senior citizens and residents.
