Mysuru, June 3 (CG)- Dr. Ravindra Ramchandra Bangar, an IRS Officer of the 1996 batch (Customs and Indirect Taxes), officially assumed charge as the Principal Commissioner of the GST Mysuru Commissionerate on May 25. Prior to this appointment, Dr. Bangar served as the Principal Commissioner at the Palghar GST and CX Commissionerate under the Mumbai Zone.
Brief profile: Dr. Bangar entered Group ‘A’ service on Sept. 9, 1996. An alumnus of IIT Bombay (Electrical Engineer) and IIM Calcutta (PGDM) and LLB from Mumbai University, he also holds a MA (Economics) Maxwell School, NY and Ph.D in Accounting from Syracuse University, NY, USA.
Spanning nearly three decades, his career includes leadership roles as Commissioner across major setups, including Dibrugarh GST & CX (Guwahati Zone), Belapur GST & CX and Palghar GST & CX (Mumbai Zone). Dr. Bangar brings extensive expertise in Revenue administration, trade facilitation and robust GST compliance.
His leadership marks a vital phase for the Mysuru CGST & CX Commissionerate in streaming Indirect Tax administration and supporting the local trade ecosystem. His vast administrative expertise, combined with a proactive and collaborative approach toward the trade sector and departmental officers, will undoubtedly foster a robust and thriving local trade ecosystem.
