Telecom touches everyone’s life: AIR Engineering Director

Mysuru:  “The scope of Telecommunication in today’s world is tremendous and it has very high potential to excel. Telecom has touched everyone’s life and helped the generation in eradicating poverty, illiteracy and made it possible for long range communication,” said Sunil Bhatia, Director, Engineering, All India Radio (AIR), Mysuru.

He was speaking after inaugurating the second State-level Telecommunication Project Model Competition (TELEUSTAV – 2018), organised by GSSS Institute of Engineering and Technology for Women (GSSSIETW), Telecommunication Engineering Department in association with Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (IETE) Mysuru Centre at its premises, here recently.  

He said that he was amazed to see the profile of the Institute as it had focused only on the education of women that too in professional courses. “The Department of Telecommunication is helping students to harness their potential and technical model projects helps to develop skills of students,” Sunil Bhatia added.

GSSSIETW Principal Dr. M Shivakumar and Vanaja B. Pandit, Hon Secretary, GSSS also spoke. Dr. B. D. Parameshachari, Professor and HoD, highlighted the opportunities and challenges in the Telecommunication sector. Coordinators  S.I. Arpitha Shankar and M. Keerthi Kumar, staff and students of TCE were present.

Best Project prize

R. Chaitra, M. Manasa, K. Sanjana and L. Thejaswini of 8th Sem of Telecommunication Engineering Department, received 3rd prize for the project entitled “Wild Animal Detection and Altering using X-band doppler radar for the Crop Protection” under the guidance of Dr. Parameshachari during TELEUSTAV.
