Tender coconut vendor robbed

Hunsur: In a daring loot, miscreants who targeted a tender coconut vendor, has robbed him of cash, jewellery and cellphone on Thursday night.

M.K. Chandru, the tender coconut vendor of Murukanahalli in K.R. Pet taluk, was proceeding to Hunsur from Ratnapuri  on a motorcycle on the night of Sept. 2, when three bike-borne miscreants who followed him, waylaid him near Hoskote Gate  on Ratnapuri-Hunsur Road, under the pretext of seeking petrol.

Soon as Chandru stopped his motorcycle, the bike-borne trio assaulted Chandru and robbed him of Rs. 18,000 cash, a gold ring weighing 11.5-gm and his cell phone, before managing to flee along with the loot  under the cover of darkness, it is learnt. 

The Hunsur Rural Police, who have registered a case following a complaint by Chandru, have begun investigation.
