Terminated contract Music Varsity staff hope to get justice during CM’s visit to city

June 7, 2022

Mysore/Mysuru: Even as the indefinite stir launched by the removed contract staff (Non- teaching) of the city-based KSGH Music and Performing Arts University on Monday completed  108 days, the retrenched staff are hoping against hope that they will get justice during the Chief Minister’s visit to city tomorrow (June 8).

Deeply dejected after the KSGH Music Varsity authorities relieved them of their duties all of a sudden in February last without any notice, the terminated contract staff had launched the indefinite stir in front of the Music Varsity campus in Lakshmipuram a few days later.

The aggrieved staff had submitted memorandums to Housing Minister V. Somanna, MP Pratap Simha, Nanjangud MLA B. Harshavardhan and several other elected representatives seeking fulfilment of their demands which chiefly included reinstatement of all terminated staff, release of 14-month salary dues and revision of wages among others. But all this has gone in vain so far as their demands remain unaddressed.

Now, they are hoping that the CM’s visit to city will bring their woes to an end, at least by June 21, when International Day of Yoga (IDY) event will take place in city with the participation of Prime Minister Modi and also as the day (June 21) happens to be World Music Day as well.
