Thathachari Memorial Music Concert at Alwar Kala Bhavan tomorrow

Mysore/Mysuru: Sri Krishna Ganasabha and Sri Krishna Seva Samithi Charitable Trust, Gokulam III Stage, have organised Prof. Y.T. Thathachari Memorial Music Concert tomorrow (Dec. 19) at 6 pm at its Alwar Kala Bhavan.  On the occasion, the renovated Kala Bhavan will be inaugurated. Former MLA Vasu and MLC Marithibbegowda will be the chief guests. Corporator S.B.M. Manju, Managing Trustee of Bhramara Trust Madhuri Thathachari and Vidushi Dr. M.A. Jyothi will be the guests of honour. 

B.S. Sridhara Raj Urs, President, Sri Krishna Ganasabha, will preside the Sabha programme. This will be followed by a music concert by Vidushi Dr. M.A. Jyothi – vocal accompanied by  Vidwan Keshava Mohan Kumar – violin,  Vidwan P.S. Sridhar – mridanga and  Vidwan M.R. Manjunath – ghata.  

Profile: Dr. M.A. Jyothi is a seasoned musician, trained in Karnatak vocal. She was initiated into music by her mother Neeraja Achuta Rao.  She has given Karnatak music performances in several organisations in London, Switzerland Chennai, Delhi, Mumbai, Trissur, Bengaluru and Mysuru. 

She has also performed for All India Radio and Television. Jyothi learnt the joy of vocal music from Vidu. Dr. Sukanya Prabhakar. Later, Guru Vidu. Neela Ramagopal expanded her horizons greatly and continues to inspire her with her energy and dedication. Her aesthetic sensibilities refined greatly when she came under the tutelage of violin maestro Lalgudi Jayaraman.  Jyothi is also a competent violinist and dedicates her time to teaching.
