Government accords Cabinet Minister status to Chairpersons of Boards and Corporations

Bengaluru: The B.S. Yediyurappa-led BJP Government, which recently appointed several ruling party MLAs as Chairpersons to a host of State-run Boards and Corporations,  on Wednesday accorded the rank of Cabinet Minister to 13 Chairpersons and rank of Minister of State to four other Chairpersons.

Accordingly, KSRTC (Bengaluru) Chairman M. Chandrappa, Karnataka Adi Jambava Development Corporation Chairman Duryodhana Aihole, the Karnataka State Commission for Scheduled Castes and Tribes Chairman Nehru Olekar, Karnataka Urban Water Supply and Drainage Board (KUWS&DB) Chairman Narasimha Nayak aka Rajugowda, Karnataka Road Development Corporation Ltd. (KRDCL) Chairman Shivanagouda Nayak, Karnataka Small Scale Industries Development Corporation (KSSIDC) Chairman Kalakappa Bandi, Karnataka Urban Infrastructure Development and Finance Corporation (KUIDFC) Chairman Shankar Patil Munenakoppa, Karnataka Soaps and Detergents Ltd. (KSDL) Chairman Madaal Virupakshappa, Karnataka Handloom Development Corporation Chairman Siddu Savadi, Karnataka Food and Civil Supplies Corporation Chairman A.S. Patil Nadahalli, Kalyana Karnataka Development Board Chairman Dattatreya Patil Revoor, Karnataka Taanda Development Corporation Chairman P. Rajeev and Maharshi Valmiki Scheduled Tribes Development Corporation Chairman S.V. Ramachandra, have been accorded the rank of Cabinet Minister.

NEKRTC (Kalaburagi) Chairman Rajkumar Patil Telkur, Karnataka Forest Industries Development Corporation Chairman C.S. Niranjan Kumar, Karnataka State Spices Development Board (Hubballi) Chairman A.S. Jayaram and Dr. Babu Jagjivan Ram Leather Industries Development Corporation Chairman N. Linganna have been accorded the rank of Minister of State.
