Thathayya Memorial Lecture Series on ‘Chandrayan-3: An insight’

Mysore/Mysuru: As part of Thathayya Memorial Lecture Series, senior scientist couple from Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), Nandini Harinath and M. Harinath, will deliver lectures on ‘Chandrayan-3: An insight’ at 4 pm tomorrow (Feb. 25) at The Anathalaya on N.S. Road in city.

The successful Chandrayan mission will be presented as an audio-visual presentation to the students not only from the free students’ hostel of The Anathalaya but also from selected few educational institutions in the city and students so selected are from the  science stream.

Nandini Harinath has a rich experience in the field of space science running up to 27 years and has specialised in space mission design and space craft operations. She has been the crucial cog in all the space missions launched by ISRO and at present she is the Deputy Director at ISRO’s Telemetry Tracking and Command Network  Centre (ISTRAC).

M. Harinath has worked as Deputy Engineer in D&E (RADAR), Bharat Electronics. He moved to ISRO in August, 1990. He worked as Reliability Engineer supporting relevant activities for INSAT-2 series of spacecrafts followed by several GSAT spacecraft missions in 1990s. He is currently working as Group Director, Program Management and Systems Group.

Thathayya Memorial Lecture Series, held bi-monthly with an objective of personality development for students, was initiated in 2023 as an innovative measure by The Anathalaya President C.V. Gopinath, who retired as Additional Secretary, Government of India.
